Ayyappa Swamy or Sri Dharma Shasta was worshiped according to Tantra as his prime ritual. Swamy has told his parents that he will do tapasya for ending Kali (Demon) as a Bramhachari and he explained his avtara secret to his father. Since Shastavu is brought up as heir & prince of Pandalam Kingdom, many royal jewels were made for his Coronation.

Ayyappa swamy left for Forests to observe Nistura Bramhacharya like Lord Rama before coronation day. Thus he is called an incarnation of Lord Rama and gave Salvation to Sabari (devotee of lord rama in Ramayana) and made her as Sabarimalai hill.

Five days before the Makara Jyoti day the descendants of Pandalam Kingdom will carry Ayyappa Swamy Jewels and travel via traditional trekking path accompanied by Garuda for protection. Once Makara Star (Sirius) appeared in sky, he is decorated only once in a year with royal jewels and his intestity of cosmic radiance is shone as Makara Jyoti.

The Dewashom board with help of Thazamon Thanthri family members will light a Divine Fire known as Makaravilakku on top of Ponnambalamedu hill. November 2025 Darshan Q Tickets are allowed to register from 1st November 2025.

December Month Tickets are allowed to register from 24th November 2025.

Note: At present all the released Quota for December & January 2026 are complete registered by devotees. If any cancellations in previously booked persons will show green in availability for a small amount of time. Ayyappan or Manikantha Swamy is the second most visited diety in South India. People who know Kerala and its important tourist places to visit often end up going to Sabarimala. Note: Only 12 hours stay in the single allotted room is given per each booking. No extension under any circumstances is allowed.

How to check Rooms availability in Sabarimala:

Checking available rooms in Sabarimala is only possible by login into booking portal.

Recent update on Sabarimala online TBD website showed that accommodation booking will be available from October 16. Pilgrims can check the availability once the Travancore Devashom board updated the latest chart.

First, select the Accommodation tab on the screen and wait for the booking calendar to appear.

After checking and confirming your availability on a particular date, select it and proceed to Fill the details.

If you are looking to book 30 days advance one must log in in the website @ 11 55 PM previous day. Because accommodation booking is released by 12:00 AM at the start of every day.

Next, choose the time slot you want to confirm the booking. Proceed to confirm the number of pilgrims going to stay.

Enter your latest working communication details like mobile number, email address for delivery.

complete Online payment and finish the booking. Cost of each room depends upon your choice of the guest house.

Indian Railways has started to accommodate the pilgrims traveling for Sabarimala 2025-26 Season. Every year millions of devotees ­­travel In trains to reach Sabarimala. Many people will also board the special suvidha trains, weekly special trains etc and reach to the nearest railway station to Sabarimala. We after following Indian Railways Press Releases, made up a list of special trains running from Vishakapatnam, Chennai, Hyderabad or Secunderabad, Vijayawada.

Sabarimala Special Trains 2025:

Due to Covid-19 lockdown and social distancing measures current running trains between all stations were suspended. Only few selected routes are open to travel and there were no known special trains which are running to nearest sabarimala are provided by Indian Railways.

Sabarimala Special Train between Chennai Central & Kollam station In October November December & January:

Two trains named Chennai Central to Kollam Special Express, Kollam to Chennai Central Special Express running back and forth between two stations.

Trains start from Chennai central @ 08:40 PM (20:40) on alternate days from December 3 till January 14. Dates Starting from Chennai were 3, 5, 10, 12, 17, 19, 24, 26, 31 in December 2019, 2, 7, 9, 14 January 2021.

The return journey train from Kollam to Chennai Central Starts @ 03:00 PM from December 4 to January 10. Train will reach on next day morning at 09:45 AM every time. Dates starting from Kollam were 4,6,11,13,18,20 and 27, 3,8 and 10 in January 2025.

There is also a special train between Chennai & Kollam on two day December 25 and January 1. Chennai Central Suvidha Special Train no 82634 will leave kollam @ 3 PM. Chennai Kollam Suvidha Special Train 82635 will Leave Chennai Central one day only i.e January 11.

Sabarimala Special Train running between Hyderabad to Kollam:

Hyderabad Kollam suvidha special train number is 82721 & 82722 runs back & forth with these numbers. The train in scheduled to leave Hyderabad @ 3:55 PM on 17, 21, 25, 29 November. The return journey train will start from Kollam @ 3 PM on 19, 23, 27 November & 1 December respectively.

A special tollfree number was dedicated Sabarimala Pilgrims 182 and the railways opened additional IRCTC reservation counters at chengannur, Kottayam, Pampa etc. The reservation counter at pampa is functional 24X7.

Sabarimala Special Weekly Express Train from Visakhapatnam to Kollam:

This year Kollam railway station was going to be filled with Sabarimala Ayyappan Devotees. South Central Railway an East Coast Railway decided to run Special Train between Visakhapatnam & Kollam from November 17 to January 21.

Train Number 08515 will be a special weekly superfast train starts @ 23:50 PM every Sunday. The train reaches its destination kollam station on following Tuesday b7 7 AM. First trip starts from November 17 followed by 24 November, 1,8, 15, 22, 29 December & 5, 12 January.

The returning Train starts from November 19 and will continue to return at every Wednesday till January 21.

In september Ayyappan temple is opened for six days. This is during Onam festival, Monthly Kanni Puja.

Sabarimala Temple Darshan Dates October 2025:

During the month of October Ayyappa Maala Deeksha Swamys visiting will increase. It is a very good time to see sabarimala temple early celebrations. All the devotees need to visit the adobe between Oct 17 to 22 & 26 to 27 2024.

Sabarimala Ayyappa Mandala Puja November 2025 Schedule:

Mandala Puja at Sabarimala:

40 days from the start of Mandala Puja in month of November is a continuous celebration on Sabarimala. During these temple will be open at all days till end date of December. November 16 is starting date for Mandala Puja in Sabarimala temple. On the closing day of Sabarimala Temple Mandala Pooja for 41 days a special Padi Pooja was conducted for 18 holy steps. This year November month temple doors for Ayyappa Darshan opens on 16th of November and will continue for 40 days straight as Mandala Pooja is concluded on December 20th or later.

During the Mandala Puja days, Ghee Abhishekam or Neyyabhishekam is done 9 hours a day and during this time darshan is allowed.

Mandala Puja Schedule 2025:

In month of November Mandala Puja starts from 16th of November. It will continue till the end of November. During Mandala Pooja dates, Ayyappa Swamy temple doors are open from 03:00 Am to 10:00 PM. Three times Ghee Abhishekam, Visesha Poojas, Pushpayagam & Kalasa Pooja etc are done for mula murthi.

Sabarimala Temple Opening Schedule in December 2025:

In December till 27 th Mandala Puja is continued. On the end of Puja next day a huge Padi Puja is celebrated.

From 31th of December Makaravilaku Puja schedule Starts.

January Schedule for Sabarimala Temple 2026:
